Our artist Armand Villavert,Jr. did an amazing job taking Giffen’s and my script to the next level. I’ve been a huge fan of Armand’s for a while. Armand, Giffen and I collaborated on some of the KOMIKWERKS books but it’s been a real joy to work on something as high profile as a TokyoPop book because Armand will finally get the recognition he deserves!

Well, in a few hours I’ll be on stage promoting our new book line. Should be fun! Looking forward to seeing Jeff Mariotte and Michael Stackpole again. Both are great guys. Jay Fotos and Russel Davis will also be there and though I’ve communicated with both via email it’ll be fun to finally meet. Derek Benz and Jon Lewis will also be there promoting their new Scholastic book so stop by and say hi to them as well! See ya’ll soon!

Hey everyone, my buddy Kevin Grevioux has a new line of comics coming out so head on over to Astounding Studios and check out all of his amazing stuff. Kevin is not only a great human being but a true original…(we have a lot of interesting similarities)… he has a science degree (Ok so I took a science class), and is a movie star/screenwriter (I was in the background in Wyatt Earp) and he finds time to make comics (just give up sleep and you can too!). How could you not support that? So if you’re watching Underworld look for the really tough werewolf (who happened to write the movie) and if you catch The Batman on WB, Kevin was recently the voice of one of my favorite villains Solomon Grundy.

American music legend and fellow Texan Buck Owens passed away. For those of you unfamiliar with his music you’re missing out. ?Streets of Bakersfield,? with the amazing Dwight Yoakam is a wonderful song and just one of many great songs with the “Bakersfield Sound” he pioneered. So tip your hat because there aren’t as many of these pioneers as there used to be in an age when blending in is often more important than standing out.
