MONSTER FORGE UNLEASHES THE EXPLORER’S GUIDE TO THE MONSTROUS CRYPTID CREATURES OF THE UNITED STATES
THE OFFICIAL MONSTER FORGE CRYPTIDAGORIA FROM CREATORS SHANNON ERIC DENTON AND CHRIS GUGLIOTTI

A MONSTROUS HANDBOOK OF AMERICA’S STRANGEST AND MOST BELOVED LEGENDS!

Hold onto your hiking boots and sharpen your sense of wonder—Monster Forge is thrilled to announce the launch of THE EXPLORER’S GUIDE TO THE MONSTROUS CRYPTID CREATURES OF THE UNITED STATES, a lushly illustrated, wildly entertaining field guide of the nation’s most elusive legends, debuting on Kickstarter July 23rd.

From the foggy hills of Appalachia to the dusty deserts of the Southwest, this one-of-a-kind Cryptidagoria brings over fifty legendary creatures to life like never before. Written by acclaimed creator and Monster Forge founder Shannon Eric Denton (Kingdom Riders, League of Legends) and brought to vivid, eerie life by artist Chris Gugliotti (Wonder Woman, Teen Titans GO), this guide is both a love letter to folklore and a field journal for the brave.

“Cryptids have always been the ultimate ‘what if?’” says writer Shannon Eric Denton. “They’re the mysteries hiding in our own backyards. We wanted to give people a passport into that world, whether you’re a hardcore cryptid chaser or just a curious traveler with a flashlight and a dream.”

“Every creature tells a story,” adds artist Chris Gugliotti. “From the mischievous Jackalope to the terrifying Jersey Devil, these monsters are part of our culture—and they deserve to be celebrated with a little fear and a lot of fun. This guide is our love letter to all things hidden and wild.”

Whether you’re a die-hard cryptozoologist, a road-tripping monster hunter, or someone who just loves a good spooky story, THE EXPLORER’S GUIDE TO THE MONSTROUS CRYPTID CREATURES OF THE UNITED STATES is your essential companion into the unknown. Detailed illustrations, regional maps, fun facts, and in-universe notes make it the perfect addition to any adventurer’s backpack.

Kickstarter campaign launches July 23, 2025. Be ready—because these monsters won’t stay hidden for long!

Monster Forge and Longbox Heroes Take Flight with Sky Captain in New Prestige Line!

Monster Forge, in collaboration with Longbox Heroes and BigBadWorkshop, is proud to announce the debut of Sky Captain as part of the all-new Longbox Heroes Prestige 1/12 scale collectible figure line.

A tribute to retro-futuristic aviation heroes, the Sky Captain figure brings vintage pulp aesthetics together with modern toy engineering. Created in close partnership with Sky Captain visionary Kevin Conran, the figure captures the spirit of classic adventure cinema with stunning detail and premium craftsmanship.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Shannon Eric Denton, founder of Monster Forge. “Not only am I a huge fan of the genre, but working directly with Kevin Conran again—after producing The Art of Sky Captain book—makes this figure feel like the next chapter in that creative journey.”

“I’m a huge toy fan obviously, but I was also lucky enough to work on the Sky Captain film,” added Bill Murphy. “So I’m incredibly excited to revisit Sky Captain again, but this time as an action figure.”

This release marks the beginning of Monster Forge’s collaboration with the Longbox Heroes Prestige line, a new initiative developed by BigBadWorkshop to bring iconic characters and imaginative worlds to collectors with elevated design and storytelling.

As part of the launch, the Prestige line will also include officially licensed characters from The Rocketeer universe, reimagined with fresh designs and high-end articulation. For Denton, this aspect is personal: “I was lucky to call Rocketeer creator Dave Stevens a friend and even worked on the Rocketeer Jr. show at Disney. Being part of this world again is truly a joy.”

BigBadWorkShop’s Longbox Heroes Prestige line will be available exclusively through BigBadToyStore.com.

Stay tuned for additional reveals, pre-order info, and release dates as the full wave of figures is cleared for takeoff.
